Speed-to-lead benchmarks across 12 behavioral health programs
We pulled a year of call data. Programs that contacted leads within 90 seconds admitted 3.4× more patients.
Across twelve programs and roughly 38,000 inbound inquiries last year, one variable predicted admission rate better than any other: how fast someone called back.
The numbers
Leads contacted in under 90 seconds admitted at 3.4× the rate of leads contacted in the first hour. After four hours, admission rate dropped by more than 80%. After 24 hours, the lead was effectively dead — even when the person was still searching, they had already engaged with another program.
What fast actually looks like
An admissions line staffed during the hours your ads run. A routing layer that pages the on-call counselor when the line is busy. A fallback SMS that goes out within 60 seconds with a real person's name and a callback time.
None of this is glamorous. All of it moves census more than any creative test you will run this quarter.
